Oriental massage is the oldest and simplest form of medical care. At present, Oriental massage is now everywhere. They can be found anywhere in this World, and most of these massage parlors are run or managed by Chinese or Koreans, or mostly Asians, and all of them consider the business to provide people the ultimate relaxing experience possible in the loving hands of their masseuses and masseurs. The oriental massage parlors differ greatly in settings. There are some that offer saunas and Jacuzzis for their guests, while others offer just plain private rooms where the actual massage procedure takes place. Well, whatever kind of facilities may be available in a particular oriental massage parlors, this is what actually happens in the parlor:
Oriental massage is based on techniques used for centuries in the orient. From the Orient we also get out knowledge base about oriental massage oils. The techniques are based on such massage treatments as Shiatsu, acupuncture and energy healing. The main focus is to release the obstructions in the energy pathways throughout the body that can make a person fell ill. The use of essential oils has a therapeutic effect on the body, which generally lasts for a few days after the treatment. During the massage the therapist can use these oils to massage the patient’s body or he/she can drop them onto the body in a manner similar to raindrops. The oils provide deep relaxation, healing and has a specific healing effect.
Oriental massage methods make use of the internal energy called by the Chinese, Ch’i or Qi. To us it is plain old life force or energy that controls our inner strength. More or less of this wonderful stuff and we become well or remain ill. The most common and mostly used form is known as Tui-Na, Shiatsu and Thai Massage.
Tui-Na:
Tui Na uses rhythmic compression along energy channels of the body. Tui Na directly affects the flow of energy by holding and pressing the body at acupressure points. Many of the techniques are similar – gliding (known as effleurage or Tui), kneading (petrissage or Nie), percussion (tapotement or Da), friction, pulling, rotation, rocking, vibration, and shaking. The style of Tui Na practiced in China today is closer to the work of chiropractors, osteopaths, and physical therapists than to that of massage therapists.
Shiatsu:
A traditional hands-on Japanese healing art, Shiatsu can help in a wide range of conditions from specific injuries to more general symptoms of poor health. Shiatsu is a deeply relaxing experience and regular sessions help to prevent the build-up of stress in our daily lives.
Thai massage:
Thai massage is another of the techniques that comes from the Orient. It is very similar to Yoga in that it puts the body through a wide range of manipulations. Performed on the massage table or a mat on the floor, it helps the patient to relax, be more flexible and energetic. It can accommodate all body types and range of motions.
This traditional massage technique is helping people to gain their inner strength. From relaxation and relieving stress to warding off chronic pain, the benefits of oriental massage are truly awesome.
